Our new ‘You Can Dance’ photoshoots are perfect for children of all ages who have a passion for movement and music.
If your son or daughter would love the opportunity to be pictured wearing their favourite dance costumes and showing their best moves, then we’d be excited to have them in the photography studio!

We’ve introduced these dance photoshoots due to popular demand.
So many parents who come to us for family portrait photography have mentioned that they’d love to capture their child’s passion for dance in professional photographs. But, they also tell us that they haven’t yet found a local dance photographer whose style they adore.
This is where we come in!
The stylish and professional dance photography we can create for you would be ideal to display on their bedroom walls and throughout your home. They would also give your child a fantastic confidence boost whenever they look at them!
Modern dance photography
These dance portrait sessions are an ideal treat for children whatever type of dance they love and whatever their age.
Bring along your aspiring ballerina, gymnast or contemporary dancer and we’ll create adorable portraits that you and they’ll be sure to love!
· Perhaps your child is a young novice dancer and you’ve recently bought them their first pair of ballet shoes or ballet tutu?
· Maybe you have a tween or pre-teen who’s recently been bought their first pair of pointe shoes?
· Or, maybe you have an energetic teenager with years of dance experience, an extensive repertoire of moves and an impressive dance wardrobe to match!
All dancers of all abilities are welcome!
An ideal gift for your aspiring dancer
You could gift a session to your child for their birthday. Or, why not book a dance portrait session as a way of celebrating recent dance exam success or an upcoming dance show or performance.
No excuse is really needed though as these are incredible value dance photoshoots, with the investment starting from just £145!
What happens during a dance photoshoot at Kingshill Studios?
1. The booking
Once you’ve paid a £30 booking fee, we’ll confirm that you’ve secured your place on our upcoming dance photography portrait day and will pass on the important details including the date and time of the shoot, and what we recommend you bring along.
All our You Can Dance photo sessions are held at the Kingshill Studios HQ in Kingswells, Aberdeen. Upcoming session dates are to be confirmed very soon.
2. The session
Your child’s private dance portrait shoot will last 30 minutes.
Please come to the session at your allocated time with costumes and hair already done, along with a second costume if you’d like to have portraits taken in more then one dance outfit.
Our aim will be to capture a variety of portraits for you, so you’ll have plenty of images to choose from.
At the end of the session, you’ll view the portraits and choose to purchase from one of our three collections.
3. Dance photography packages
There will be three dance photography packages to choose from:
· PACKAGE ONE: Three digital portraits with matching 7x5 prints £145
· PACKAGE TWO: Five digital portraits with matching 7x5 prints £195
· PACKAGE THREE: Eight digital portraits with matching 7x5 prints £295
Your £30 booking fee is deducted from the total price, and the balance for your chosen package is payable on the day of your session.
Each collection includes up to three composite images (see examples as shown throughout this article) which involve us cleverly editing your child’s dance portrait onto a digital background.
We will create unique dance photography, making it look as though they are in a dance studio or even stepping out onto a theatre stage!
4. Delivery of your dance photos
With your child’s photos chosen, we’ll then edit your dance photographs and send them to you digitally, ready for you to share with adoring family and friends.
These will be high-resolution files, so you’ll then have the option to enlarge and print the images if you wish.
When will the dance photoshoots take place?
If you love the idea of capturing some professional dance photographs showing your aspiring dancer in their favourite tutu or sparkling costumes, then get in touch.
These dance photoshoots will run just a couple of times per year and spaces are limited, so please do enquire if you’re interested and when slots are available, do book ASAP to secure your child’s place.
