We love having families to our photography studio here just outside Aberdeen. Capturing family photographs is such a special event and we are always delighted to have families return to our studio time and time again. Even more so, after we’ve seen them for their newborn sessions, and their bundle is now running around in our five acres of Scottish countryside!
As an experienced family photographer, Susan knows that little ones can get bored quickly so she works quickly and makes the best possible use of the time we have together. We spend around 45 minutes with each of our families.
Weather permitting, we take advantage of both our homely studio space and our unique outdoor setting, to create a collection of both indoor and outdoor family photographs for you to treasure. We suggest that you bring three changes of clothes, two formal and one casual, so we can create a range of beautiful portraits for your gallery. Family photography sessions can also be a great way to mark special occasions such as anniversaries, landmark birthdays and family reunions.
When you come to our photography studio for your family photo session, an appointment will then be made for you to return approximately two weeks afterwards for a private viewing with either Susan or our Studio Manager, Carla. At this appointment we will show you a slideshow of approximately 20 beautiful family photos which you can purchase.
It’s worth having a think about our packages and wall art below before you come so that you have an idea of what you’d like to go home with…..measure those walls!! You are welcome to bring grandparents along to your viewing session, or anyone else who you think may wish to see the images. As we don’t offer online galleries, this is their chance to see them too.
A session deposit of £100 for your time at the studio is payable upon booking. This will be deducted from your chosen package at the viewing stage. Please note, we don’t offer individual prints or digital files, these can only be purchased as part of the packages noted below.
(All of your digital portraits include printing rights, allowing you to produce prints, enlargements and albums. It is our job to produce high quality beautiful images for you and we firmly believe that anything printed over 10 x 8” in size should be done professionally so that it is displayed at the quality it deserves in your home. If you are unhappy with the quality of your images printed elsewhere, we cannot be held responsible.)

Take a look around your home and measure out the space you have available. We specialise in creating beautiful art pieces for your home and are more than happy to help you make the right decision for your home and space.
What to Wear:
Choosing what to wear for your portrait session can be a lot of fun, but, if you're stuck, I’ve added some ideas to a pinterest board here! Just make sure to keep the emphasis on you and your family by keeping it simple. Generally, solid colours work best so please avoid large patterns or stripes. Barefoot looks great in the studio, but remember we will be shooting outdoors too, so bring your favourite, sturdy shoes.
