NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY AT KINGSHILL STUDIOS

If you’ve just found out that you’re expecting a baby, huge congratulations! What an incredibly exciting time for you and your family! You won’t need me to tell you that life is about to change pretty significantly (for the better, of course!).  Becoming a parent is a huge, huge blessing.

We’ve welcomed hundreds of newborn babies to our custom-designed photography studio here in Aberdeen and would be delighted to capture precious photos of your little one too!

Their first few weeks will pass so quickly. You’ll be tired and, before you know it, the newborn stage will be a distant memory. We would love to help you capture your baby in photographs as a newborn so that you will always remember how small they were! They’ll allow you to recall every little detail about the gorgeous newborn stage and help you to savour and enjoy these memories for years to come.

Trust us. Your baby’s newborn portraits will become so precious to you – more so as each year passes - and will be beautiful keepsake images, ideal for displaying on your walls at home and sharing with friends and family.

the kinsgshill Experience

Step One: Enquiry

When you first get in touch with us, we’ll send over some information on the types of newborn sessions and styles we offer. Deciding on who will take your precious baby’s first portraits is a huge decision and we want to make sure you have all the information you need before making it. You can read more about my journey from Mum, to headteacher, to photographer, here!

Step Two: A date in the diary

Our newborn photography sessions book up about eight weeks in advance, so we recommend that you book in after your twenty-week scan, this will allow us to make sure we get you firmly in the diary. Don’t worry! The provisional date that we choose for your baby’s newborn photo session can always be changed, we welcome hundreds of families every year, and are used to baby’s keeping us on our toes!

Step three: Preparing for your session

Once you’re in the diary, we will be in touch with you throughout your pregnancy, this ensures that we get to know you as a family and get a feel for what you like and hope for from your session. We’ll send out our newborn guide which is packed with information along with a questionnaire where you can tell us more about your home and preferences.

Step Four: Your Session

During your session, we’ll do all the hard work (if you can call cuddling a baby hard work!!) so you can sit back and relax and enjoy your baby’s first photoshoot inside our cosy photography studio.

Our newborn photoshoots can last up to three hours and are completely baby-led meaning those precious first moments can be captured in a relaxed and stress-free way.

Step Five: The viewing

An appointment will be made for you to return to the studio (within three weeks of your session) to view your images in a presentation created especially for you.  At this appointment with either Susan, or our Studio Manager, Carla, will show you a beautiful video of your portraits from the session.

We will also discuss with you the products we offer and how to get the best from your favourite portraits. We have many examples of our artwork displayed in our studio so you can get an idea of how this will look in your own home.

You are welcome to bring grandparents along to your viewing appointment or anyone else who you think may wish to see the images. Since we don’t offer online galleries, this is their chance to see the pictures.
