Supporting the local community - Westdyke Community Club

My eldest son plays for Westdyke U17s, so I was delighted when I was asked to do the team photographs for the January Awards!  The children and young men & women who came for their pictures (into a very small and warm room upstairs!!) were extremely well-behaved, and were a credit to their parents and to the Club.

The pictures can be viewed here:  https://susanrenee.smugmug.com/Events/Westdyke-CC-Awards-Jan-2017 and the password can be obtained from Gillian Robson, Westdyke Secretary.  The prints cost £10 for a 10x7 or a 10x5 and £15 for a 16x10.  £5 from each print will go back to Westdyke CC.   PLEASE CHECK THE CROP ON THE PRINT TO MAKE SURE THE SIZE OF PICTURE CHOSEN FITS.

A little bit about the Club: It is administered and run by a central committee of volunteers and coaches, made up from the representation by all participating teams. There are youth coaches for all teams at minimum SFA level 3 qualification and higher.

The Club is fortunate to have its own pitches, training area, changing accommodation and meeting facilities at Lawsondale, Westhill.

The Scottish Football Quality Mark is a youth football initiative which supports club development. It recognises the Club's organisation and administration and the coaching excellence on the pitch.

The continued aim is to foster the development of boys and girls at all ages.
The last few years has seen the advent of coaching for the Under 8's, where the emphasis is placed on fun and enjoyment, whilst coaching the basic skills and techniques, which will hopefully stand them in good stead for the years ahead.

The ethos of the Club is to promote participation and enjoyment in suitable sporting facilities for the benefit of the local community and beyond. Westdyke Community Club is justly proud that several former players are currently playing at a senior level in the Highland League and at a Junior level. Westdyke looks forward to the future with much optimism.
